The general cargo ship Adiante ran aground in Gulf of Finland at the approach to Ust-Luga port in Russia. The vessel was proceeding to enter the port with pilot on board, but left the fairway at buoys 8-9 area and grounded by stern at the sand embarkment. The accident was reported to local authorities and at the scene was sent towing tug, which assisted with refloating the freighter and escorted her to berth, where successfully docked several minutes later. There were no damages and water pollution reported, but the circumstances around the grounding is not clear.

The local authorities initiated investigation for the root cause of the accident. The inspection and special survey of the vessel was ordered before allowing the ship to return in service.

The general cargo ship Adiante (IMO: 9360477) has overall length of 90.00 m, moulded beam of 14.00 m and maximumd raft of 5.50 m. The deadweight of the vessel is 4,672 DWT and the gross tonnage is 2,956 GRT. The freighter was built in 2009 by Factoria Naval De Marin in Spain.
